International Compost Awareness Week (May 5-11)

Across the United States and Canada, composting advocates will be encouraging everyone to compost. Those who advocate the composting of yard waste and organics plan events in their communities to promote the value of composting. All types of composting events — from “do it yourself” composting in your backyard to large-scale community-wide composting — are promoted during this week.

There are two themes for 2014:

Compost: The Solution to Sustainable Soil and Water

Compost in Your Everyday Life
