reusable bag with groceriesHere are some tips for simple ways to reuse:

  • Reusable shopping bags - Take a bag with you to use at the grocery or department store to avoid having to use new plastic and paper bags.
  • Glass jars - Clean and reuse glass food jars to use for other purposes.  Fill them with food from a bulk section in the grocery store like rice or nuts, use them to store pencils or other supplies, or turn one into a coin jar.
  • Reusable mugs -  Use a washable mug or glass at work for beverages or take one with you on car trips to refill with coffee on pit stops.
  • No-waste lunch - Pack lunches with reusable containers in a reusable lunch tote, including washable utensils and napkin, to avoid throwing away so much waste.
  • Recycled "art" - Use random items around the house or classroom to make art.  Be creative and think of ways to use toilet paper rolls, popsicle sticks, magazine photos, etc. to turn into a work of art.
  • Old t-shirts - Cut up old t-shirts to use as rags to clean around the house.
